Petron Blaze coach Olsen Racela is willing to give Renaldo Balkman another chance, but fans who saw the Boosters import’s meltdown aren’t quite as forgiving.
In an InterAKTV poll as of 10:21 p.m. on Saturday, more than 72 percent of fans voted “No” when asked whether they thought the team should keep Balkman after the ugly incident he caused in Petron’s loss Friday night against Alaska.
Almost 5,000 votes have been cast in the poll.
Balkman struggled against the Aces for most of the game before going berserk near the end of the match. He confronted game officials after a foul was called on him, and could not be pacified by his teammates.
The incident took an even uglier turn after Balkman got into a shoving match with Petron co-captain Arwind Santos. Balkman then grabbed at Santos’ neck, before cooler heads prevailed.
